COVID-19 | Communication
By Debbie Cline
You may feel like you have received an email in the past few weeks from every company you have ever given your email to, sharing how they are handling COVID-19. You are more likely to care about two sets of these emails – those that impact you personally (your gym is closed, changes in filling prescriptions, etc.) and stories how brands are helping to make a difference.
Feeling awkward about sending an email? Your instinct may be to simply not say anything, but your customers need to hear from you. People want to hear from companies they have a relationship with. Customers want to be engaged with a business that cares about its employees and represents values associated with kindness and caring and doing the right thing.
Take this opportunity to live up to your purpose. Communicate effectively and be authentic. Send a message sharing what your company stands for and how you are helping. It doesn’t have to be a huge donation or massive effort, it just has to be real.
