Fail Fast
By Debbie Cline
I’ve made lots of mistakes in my professional life over the years and have had my share of full on failures also. And I wouldn’t have it any other way (anyone who wants to meet for drinks can hear the story of me getting laid off wearing green flowered bell-bottoms and a sombrero).
Failure, mistakes, mishaps – they all play a vital role in helping us learn and grow. Try out new ideas, figure out which ones don’t work and keep the one or two ideas that stick and drive results.
One key tip on how to fail – do it fast. When you are going to try something new (and potentially fail) it should be done in a fast form before going ahead with major investment in time and money. That way, if it does end up being a failure, fewer resources are used, and you can quickly move to a different path.
Get out there and think big. Make mistakes, learn quickly and don’t give up!
