Quick Email Tips
By Debbie Cline
Let’s talk about email. Everyone’s inbox is overflowing and everyone is busy. When sending a business email, for every hour that goes by without a response the chances of getting a reply drop quickly. After 48 hours there is little chance of response.
How do you increase your odds of someone opening your email and responding? Send emails that you would want to get. Succinct messages that help you make a quick decision – whether to reply or not, whether to click through or not. Here are a few quick tips:
- Use a short compelling subject line
- Keep your email short and organized
- Have a clear ask or offer (or don’t send it!)
- Send early in the day during business hours
- Avoid attachments
- Proofread and spellcheck
These quick tips will help you increase your open rates and increase engagement rates.
